This is a reproduction of the Kluson ""501VX Super Tuner"" (better known as the ""Waffle Back Tuner""), which was used on some of Gibson's high-end models from around 1967 to early 1974. The waffle back pegs used on some of Gibson's high-end models from the late 1940s to the 1950s had pearloid keystone-type tuning knobs, but the version from around 1967 was changed to a metal (keystone-type) tuning knob. The models in question are the ""ES-355TD/SV"" (made from 1967 to 1974), ""Les Paul Custom"" (made from 1968 to 1974), and ""SG Custom"" (made from 1968 to 1974).
