Forbidden Planet is a fully analog multimode filter inspired by Steiner-Parker's 1975 Synthacon. Control Forbidden Planet manually or with CV and take your Eurorack sound to new orbits.

Forbidden Planet has three filter inputs: High Pass, Low Pass and Band Pass. The High Pass section is the signature sound of this module, designed to add high pass filtering to Tiptop Audio's wide range of Eurorack modules. Send a thumping kick drum to the High Pass section to filter the bass while preserving the pulse of the beat. Band Pass is perfect for precise sound design, shaping audio in its sweet spot, while cutting low and high frequencies. Low Pass is a classic -12dB 2-pole analog slope that sounds great for mono synth patches and filtering down to the ideal low end bass.

Resonance uses an internal feedback path that can sound smooth or aggressive depending on the knob setting. At low settings it emphasizes cutoff harmonics, at mid settings it starts self-oscillating, and at maximum settings it takes you into the world of science fiction with interesting sounds and fine grain self-oscillation.

Forbidden Planet is an impressive multimode analog filter, adding a wide filter spectrum to Tiptop Audio's modular family, a small unit that unlocks ""forbidden"" creative possibilities.
