Tiptop Audio's TOMS909 is a module that faithfully reproduces the circuits of the three tom drum sound sources (LOW, MID, and HIGH) that were built into the TR-909.

The TOMS909 is a faithful reproduction of the three tom drum circuits found in the TR-909: LOW, MID, and HIGH. This module was designed to sound like a machine that had just come off the production line in the 80s. In addition, the tuning range of each tom has been expanded, allowing you to get a soft bass drum sound in the low range and a higher pitch tom in the high range.

The tom circuit is made up of nine triangle wave oscillators, filters, VCAs, and envelope stacks, which together take up about half the space of the original 909 circuit board. The TOMS909 uses the latest electronic design techniques to squeeze this huge circuit, consisting of over 450 components, into a width of just 16HP. This beautiful board is filled with hundreds of small components, making it a true ""analog jewel.""

Each tom has a trigger, accent input with accent level control, manual tune, voltage control tune input with attenuator, and three independent audio outputs. In addition, there is a MIX out that outputs all three toms together, and a MixBus on the rear panel for internal connection to the MIXZ mixer module. Each gate input has a dual pulse shaper circuit, allowing the TOMS909 to be triggered by a trigger/gate signal from a pulse/clock source such as a sequencer.
