Make Noise / Tape & Microsound

The Tape & Microsound Music Machine is a stereo modular system that specializes in taking in external sounds and transforming them into new sounds. It realizes ""musique concrète,"" a technique of contemporary music, in a compact Eurorack module.

The core of this system is three stereo audio processing modules: Morphagene, QPAS, and Mimeophon. Morphage is a sampling module that digitally reproduces an endless tape recorder, allowing you to make cuts in any position on the tape and split it into pieces, looping and playing back each piece, or rearranging them in a way that is unique to digital. QPAS is a stereo filter with four filter cores that produces unique filter sounds. Mimeophon is a stereo audio repeater that emulates any spectral response. By combining these three modules, you can chop up the input sound and rearrange it in stereo, or create a completely different sound that is far removed from the input sound.

The modulation sources for controlling the three modules are the Richter Wogglebug, which generates random audio, random CV, random gate, and clock, and the versatile MATHS module, which can be used as a single unit to create envelopes, LFOs, slew limiters, and complex modulation sources. These two units alone can generate a variety of CVs and effectively control three stereo audio processing modules.

The sound is output by the interface module XOH. It can mix two stereo sounds and output them to a sound system and monitor them through headphones at the same time.
