This mute was developed by Dennis Wick, who was a principal player of the London Symphony Orchestra, after repeated trial and error of prototypes. The Practice Mute is a mute to be used for practice. By blowing into the mute in a way that resonates well, you can open your throat wide and learn to play using all your lung capacity. It is useful for various practice purposes, such as improving tone and stabilizing pitch.
