The TAMA Starclassic Performer series is an affordable drum set that retains the "excellent shell sound" of the Starclassic by reviewing and evolving the shell material and hardware to meet the needs of the times.
In addition to the maple/birch hybrid shell that produces a balanced, clear, and punchy sound, the newly developed MTH800 tom holders have a wide range of movement, with the holders operating independently on the left and right sides.
This new series of drum sets is designed to satisfy even the most demanding professional drummers while maintaining an affordable price.

The shell material is a hybrid shell combining 2-ply maple on the inside and birch on the outside.
The warm and articulate sound of the maple shell is combined with the clear sound image and solid attack of the birch to create a well-balanced, clear, and punchy sound.

The MTH800 double tom holder has an Omni ball system that allows stepless angle adjustment. The holders that secure the omniballs can be moved independently to the left and right, providing a wide range of movement from front to back and from left to right.

The Star-Cast Mounting System was developed to maximize the sound of the shell, ideally with the tom-toms held in hand, and its streamlined design makes it possible to set up the tom-toms close together. This allows for a highly flexible setup.
The use of aluminum as the material used has achieved a lightweight design. This greatly reduces the burden of transportation.

The highly rigid zinc die-cast hoop keeps the contact surface between the head and hoop perpendicular, enabling the instrument to respond sensitively to even the most severe tuning. A powerful sound with a clear fundamental note is also a major attraction.
