The shell material is a hybrid shell combining 2-ply maple on the inner ply and birch on the outer ply.
The warm and articulate sound of the maple shell is combined with the clear sound image and solid attack of the birch to create a well-balanced, clear, and punchy sound.
The highly rigid zinc die-cast hoop keeps the contact surface between the head and hoop perpendicular and sensitive to severe tuning. A powerful sound with a clear fundamental note is also a major attraction.
