~How to select a capacitor
A capacitor (capacitor) is an electronic component with a simple structure consisting of two electrodes sandwiched between insulators that do not conduct electricity. When used in a guitar/bass, it is the part that adjusts how much of the high-frequency signal is dropped to the ground when the tone control is operated (i.e., how mellow and muffled the sound will be).
The effectiveness of a capacitor is measured using the unit of capacitance "μF/microfarad" that can accept the signal that flows through it.
The larger the capacitance (μF/microfarad), the wider the range of sound that can be dropped to the ground, resulting in a more mellow and muffled sound.
For example, if you currently have 0.022μF and want to make it sound mellower, use a larger capacitance such as 0.047μF or 0.1μF. If you want a mellower sound, choose a higher capacitance, such as 0.047μF or 0.1μF, and if you want a more gradual tone effect, choose a lower capacitance, such as 0.01μF, to get closer to your ideal sound.
Generally, 0.047μF (sometimes 473) is used for single coil guitar P.U. tones, and 0.022μF (sometimes 223) is used for humbucking P.U. and bass P.U. tones.
0.001μF = 1000pF
The above is just a general view. The effect will vary depending on the characteristics of the guitar/base and the combination with other parts.
We do not guarantee the installation of parts for guitars and basses, as they are subject to modification. Please be aware of this beforehand.
