Vintage NEVE 1073-style mic preamp with digital recall.

The WesAudio PHOEBE is a vintage NEVE 1073-style microphone/line/instrument preamplifier with digital recall. It has authentic British Carnhill input/output transformers and reproduces the sound of legendary Class A circuit mic preamps.

Compatible with the API500 module compatible "ng500" standard, the analog circuitry is digitally controlled via the unit's USB or _TITAN frame. This allows _PHOEBE automation and digital recall from plug-ins on the DAW.

The Class A signal path is 100% analog, yet many engineers have been asking for the convenience of full control of all of it from the DAW. The front combo jacks support microphone, line, and instrument inputs and can be switched from the plug-in along with the inputs on the API500 chassis side.

The 75dB microphone gain provides ample clean headroom even with low-power passive ribbon microphones, and the selectable input impedance allows for optimal sound from any microphone. The Iron Pad on the gain stage can also attenuate the output up to -15dB in 1dB steps, allowing you to get a variety of textures from this unit.

This ideal preamplifier allows you to control/recall the sound quality and texture of vintage NEVEs produced by real analog circuits, not digital simulations, from the plug-in.
