Product Overview The Ferrofish Pulse16 DX +24 is designed for consistent, uncompromised performance in a professional studio and live situations, offering 16 channels of balanced analog inputs and outputs, 4 ADAT inputs and outputs, and 64 channels of audio transmission In addition to the features of the Pulse16 DX, the maximum reference level can be set to +24 dBu.
Combined with the MADI audio interface, it can be used to build multi-channel recording and playback systems for spatial audio and other applications.
Sixteen analog inputs and outputs can be integrated into a Dante network and used as a format converter between ADAT, MADI, and Dante digital interfaces.
Excellent Sound Quality The Pulse16 DX +24, which supports up to 192 kHz, delivers true-to-life sound quality with a high resolution at 48 kHz and 192 kHz, and a sophisticated analog amplifier and powerful jitter reduction circuitry. In addition, a high-end AD/DA converter is employed to achieve professional-quality ADDA conversion.
Analog & Digital Input/Output The 1U-sized main unit has 16 balanced analog inputs and 16 balanced analog outputs. The front panel headphone output can monitor all input and output signals.
The Pulse16 DX +24 has MADI optical multimode terminals, and the Pulse16 DX +24 Single Mode has MADI optical single mode terminals as standard, allowing up to 64 channels (@48kHz) of input/output. The four ADAT inputs and outputs support up to 16 channels and 96 kHz in SMUX/2 mode.
The Dante network has two redundant terminals and can carry 64 input/output channels at 48 kHz.
The word clock establishes digital synchronization and can be sent and received via BNC terminals or ADAT, MADI, or Dante.
Digital Format Converter & Router The versatile inputs and outputs of the Pulse16 DX +24 serve as a very flexible digital format converter and signal router.
Audio signals can be freely converted to all analog and digital formats and output in multiple formats simultaneously in eight-channel increments.
Ferrofish products can accommodate many channels in a surprisingly small amount of rack space when connected in series.
Intuitive Operation and Easy Maintenance Two TFT screens on the front panel display all the channel gain, output level, routing, monitoring, and clock settings for all inputs and outputs, so you can see everything happening on each channel. The headphone output allows for single-channel, stereo pair, and submix-by-submix monitoring, which are more reliable and maintainable in the field via the Pulse16 DX +24.
Remote Control via RemoteFish The Pulse16 DX +24 can be remotely controlled in multiple ways, making it ideal for live recording, broadcast, and facility acoustics setups where long-distance transmission is required.
The remote control is possible via MIDI and MIDI-over-MADI, including alert messages. The RemoteFish remote control software can be downloaded free of charge from the website and can operate all functions of multiple Ferrofish devices, including input/output, monitoring, and routing.

In a Dante network-centered studio system, the Pulse16 DX +24 provides many AD/DA front end to outboards and monitors, connecting each Dante device in a star connection centered on a switching hub. The Pulse16 DX +24 also supports a DD converter function that converts ADAT/MADI signals to Dante lines, analog input/output for every 16 channels, and remote control via Dante lines.
Immersive-compatible Studio
Ferrofish AD/DA converters are used in many immersive studios, which have become increasingly popular recently. By connecting to a Dante console via a switching hub, the Ferrofish AD/DA converter can be used as a high-quality AD/DA converter for monitoring in an immersive studio environment.
Live Recording
The Pulse16 DX +24 can be connected to a live PA system, with Dante receiving signals from FOH and stage boxes over Dante lines. The ADAT-equipped mic preamps can receive ambiance microphones, and a single unit can transmit up to 64 channels together on a single MADI line. An abundance of analog line inputs allows signals from devices without digital outputs to be combined.
