The MKH 8090 is an 8000 series microphone with a ""wide cardioid"" directional pattern, featuring extremely low noise and amazing wide bandwidth.

■Directional microphone with beautiful polar pattern
Wide cardioid is a directional characteristic that is halfway between cardioid and omnidirectional. There are no dips or peaks that occur with directional microphones, and it maintains a natural sound while reliably attenuating sounds from the rear direction. With its directivity and pursuit of even more accurate off-axis response, the MKH 8090 has been newly born as a microphone with extremely beautiful directionality.
When used as a main microphone, especially in recording orchestras and choruses, it picks up ""room acoustics that are in harmony with the entire sound,"" while as a spot microphone, it exhibits ""sufficient directionality to eliminate other sound sources without narrowing the recording sound excessively.""
The wide frequency response of 30 to 50 kHz is also attractive, and it can also be used for high-resolution recording.
■MKH technology
The MKH series' traditional RF technology is also inherited, and the low capsule output impedance achieves weather resistance and low self-noise. Furthermore, flat transducer compensation that does not rely on resonance mechanisms makes it possible to capture accurate sound from low to high frequencies.

■Modular system
The 8000 series uses a modular system that allows the capsule + preamplifier and connector to be separated. By combining a variety of accessories such as stands and clamps, it can be used in optimal conditions. In addition, when combined with the MZD 8000 digital module, it is possible to configure an AES42 (Mode-2) standard digital microphone, and AD conversion is also possible at a sampling frequency of up to 192 kHz in the best environment directly under the capsule.
