Ivory II Studio Grands is a virtual piano sound source that contains two well-maintained ""studio grand"" pianos in two studios in California and Connecticut, USA, which have produced numerous Grammy-winning and nominated works.

Not only does it contain a huge number of samples, Ivory II Studio Grands has an amazingly natural sound and behavior of the piano itself. Every detail and nuance of each model has been realized in software through Synthogy's many years of programming and DSP technology. It works as a plug-in or standalone.
Ivory II Studio Grands contains the largest library in the series, 24 velocity levels, more than 50GB for each model, for a total of 112GB. The release samples and soft pedal samples have been further enhanced, resulting in the most detailed sound in the Ivory series.

The Ivory II software has also been updated to v2.5. Along with the improvements to the piano engine, new features include support for MIDI CC assignments, high-resolution MIDI velocity, new half-pedal control, and a unique ""Shimmer"" that adjusts sustain and decay. These features are also available in the other Ivory II series.

Steinway Model B
Power Station NE, Waterford, Connecticut
The Steinway B is one of the most recorded pianos in history, and the model most requested to be included in the Ivory series. It has a unique balance of size and power, with a multifaceted sound that matches any style of music. It is the ideal piano instrument for the studio. It is no wonder that Steinway himself praised it as the ""perfect piano"".

For the recording, we selected a Steinway B model directly at the Steinway factory in Astoria, New York, with the generous cooperation of Steinway & Sons?. The sample sessions were recorded using pianos that were serviced, adjusted and tuned by Steinway's best concert technicians, and were tuned live to ensure the best tuning was maintained during the recording sessions.

Recorded in the classic live room Power Station NE, a room that acoustically replicates the sound of New York's premier Power Station/Avatar studio, down to the nail. Engineered by Mark Donahue, Synthogy's team of experts worked carefully to capture every nuance and detail of this extraordinary instrument.

Bsendorfer 225
Firehouse Recording Studios, Pasadena, California
The Bösendorfer 225 grand piano has a deep, resonant tone and an exquisite balance that never loses clarity in any range. At 7'4"", it is longer than a typical studio grand and has four extra keys in the lower range. This piano, which has appeared on numerous Grammy-winning and nominated albums, occupies a special place in the history of recording.

The recording sessions were engineered by Tony Sheppard and used Studio A, one of the most complete facilities at Firehouse Recording Studios in Pasadena. In this historic room, the awe-inspiring and weighty sound is captured to the fullest.
