The IGS Audio/Double Triode Limiter is a tube microphone preamp optimized to work with any type of microphone. The wide range of gain effects allows you to record drums with the quietest ribbon microphones.

The Double Triode Limiter is a tube microphone preamp optimized to work with all types of microphones.

The wide range of gain effects allows you to record drums with the most demure ribbon microphones. It is also suitable for recording tracks from external devices such as synthesizers and drum machines (e.g. Akai MPC). It is great for reamping tracks in your DAW and adding some nice tube saturation to your sound. The high impedance input (HiZ) on the front panel allows you to connect an electric or bass guitar directly to the grid of a tube amplifier at the beginning (a typical HiZ solution).


The limiter section can be used as an additional function. It can be used to limit the peak level of the input signal, and the limiting component uses a photocell custom designed by IGS Audio. When the limiter is engaged, an LED labeled ""Limit"" on the front panel is lit. The limiter controls excessive signals and prevents digital clipping at the input to the ADC. Another use is as a drum compressor or mix bus compressor, which can improve the overall dynamics of the mix and give it a brighter sound.
