The Bigsby B5 tremolo unit, also known as the horseshoe, is a pinless, string-through roller string post that is perfect for flat-top solid guitars such as the SG and Telecaster. Instead of hooking the ball end of the string onto a traditional pin, the B5 has a hole for the string, allowing for quicker and easier string changes.

ギブソンSGに取り付け

元々ベースを弾いていたのですがギターを始めようと思い立ち、ギブソンSGを購入しました。わかっていたのですがこれほど違和感があるとは思っていなかったのがヘッド落ちです。ストラップを加工してみたり様々な工夫はしたけど抜本的な解決には至りませんでした。奇をてらったようなギターはやめて、ストラトにしたらと周りに言われていたのですが後悔先に立たずですね。トレモロ自体は頭の隅にありました。でも、チューニングが狂うことと、ビグスビーをつけたギターに弦を張るときに上手くいかなくて発狂してた人を見た経験からなんとなく避けていたのです。そこで「弦交換を容易にしたモデルも出てるよ」と聞いて半ばダメ元でこのB5PLを購入してみました。すると、取り付け簡単。音には顕著な変化無し。チューニングの狂いは範疇内。おまけに質感はアルミニウムなのになんだか高級、強いて言えば釣具のオールドアブアンバサダーのような趣のある工芸感。一言で最高でした。また、ヴィブラメイトのショートタイプを使用したのですが、私の個体はズレなく装着できております。
