This signature model was developed based on the 1965 Stratocaster, commonly known as ""Driftwood,"" which Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra's Takashi Kato has used as his main guitar for many years.
Since their debut, Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, a representative Japanese ska band, has performed in 31 countries around the world, not just in Japan, and has participated in many of the world's largest music festivals, including Coachella. This signature model was developed under the supervision of guitarist Takashi Kato in pursuit of a vintage style, based on the 1965 Stratocaster, commonly known as ""Driftwood,"" which has been his main instrument for many years.
The ""Paradise Blue"" that covers the body is an original color that reproduces the unique color of Lake Placid Blue that has deepened over time, while strengthening the metallic look. The nitrocellulose lacquer top coat has been kept to a minimum, allowing you to enjoy the vintage sound and look more quickly. The neck, profiled from the actual instrument played by the artist, has a 7.25-inch radius round rosewood fingerboard, a nut width of approximately 41 mm, and a thin 1965 ""C"" shape, faithfully reproducing the feel of the vintage guitar while providing smooth playability with narrow tall frets.
The patent pattern transition logo, which was used from late 1964 to mid-1965, has also been reproduced for this guitar, the first time it was made in Japan.
The neck pocket is designed deep to recreate the tension that is unique to vintage guitars, which comes from being used while undergoing refrets and other processes.
The pickups are Custom Wired Vintage Style Single Coils, developed specifically for this guitar. The special wiring allows the guitar to produce rich overtones and edges like hand-wound guitars, even though it is machine-wound. In addition, the neck and middle pickups are mid-60s, and the bridge pickup is from the 50s to early 60s, so that it can be used for both light rhythm guitar and thick lead tones. This guitar was created with the desire of Kato, who is well-versed in vintage Stratocasters, to allow more guitarists to experience their charm.
