Austrian Audio / CC8 Stereo Set

Small diaphragm condenser microphone CC8 handmade in Vienna, Austria. Equipped with OCC7 capsule, which was inspired by the legendary CK1 capsule, it combines tradition and the latest technology such as high SPL support, transformerless circuit, and 2-step high-pass filter / pad.

The sound is natural and open, with silky smoothness in the mid to high range. With the OCC7 capsule and transformerless circuit, the frequency response is extremely linear, and even extremely high SPL of up to 156 dB can be recorded without distortion. This makes it an ideal microphone for recording acoustic guitars, pianos, snares, hi-hats, drum sets, as well as classic sources such as strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion. In addition, all individual sensitivity differences shipped are calibrated within ± 0.5 dB at 1 kHz, so any combination of the two can be used as a stereo pair.

The OCC7 Condenser Capsule is used in Austrian Audio's small diaphragm microphone products and is being developed in Vienna, Austria. Inspired by the legendary CK1 capsule, the OCC7 capsule continues its tradition and meets modern needs. The 3 micron thin gold-plated polyethylene naphthalate (PEN) diaphragms used in the capsules are far more robust than traditional Mylar products. In addition, the frequency response is extremely linear and can withstand high sound pressure levels. Combined with very low self-noise, it provides excellent dynamic range. With a natural and open sound, it doesn't feel rough even with high SPL sources, and boasts silky smoothness in the mid to high range.

The capsules are hand-built in Austria by experts with traditional skills, and the individual sensitivity difference shipped is calibrated within 0.5 dB, so any combination of the two can be used as a stereo pair.
