WALDORF / M8Voice

M (M) is a new generation classic hybrid synthesizer equipped with Waldorf's traditional wavetable and analog VCF/VCA.

■ M is an 8-voice polyphonic, 4-part multitimbral wavetable synthesizer. Based on the Microwave, Waldorf's roots and a global hit product, and its successor, Microwave II/XT, this product has been evolved by adding modern functions using the latest technology.

■ The two wavetable oscillators use two different sound source models from Waldorf's tradition: the classic 8-bit Waldorf Microwave I and the modern 16-bit Waldorf Microwave II/XT. In addition, the filter, which is important for sound creation, uses an analog 24dB/Oct improved ladder-type low-pass filter (the modern version of the vintage VCF chip SSM2044, SSI 2144), which produces natural self-oscillation without sound loss and mild but powerful saturation sound. Equipped with analog stereo VCA. Each of the four multitimbral parts can be output in stereo.

■ A huge number of 2048 sounds can be stored. The 1024 presets are packed with classic sounds from the Microwave 1 Factory Sound Set, sounds from PPG Wave 2.3, and sounds newly created by world-renowned sound designers using new functions. It is a synth that can be used immediately.

■ The control panel has 45 knobs/encoders, 19 buttons, and one high-resolution display, allowing intuitive operation of the main parameters. We are currently developing an 8-voice voice expansion board (sold separately), which will increase the maximum voice count to 16 (planned). A rack mount kit is available separately.
