Make Noise / Strega

An experimental device developed in collaboration with Make Noise and Alessandro Cortini (Nine Inch Nails).

Strega is an experimental device developed jointly by Make Noise and Alessandro Cortini (Nine Inch Nails). Its concept is an ""audio alchemy experimental device,"" and at first, the experimental results will often be extremely difficult to predict. However, as you use Strega, you will master the secrets of audio alchemy, control this complex device, and be able to create mysterious sounds.

Audio alchemy using Strega begins with ""Activation."" The audio material that will be the source of alchemy is generated inside Strega using ""Tonic,"" or the audio material is activated by throwing it into the jar from outside. The activated material is sent to the ""Time / Filter Laboratory"" and agitated by the signal generated by the ""Agitation Generator."" The experimental results are output from ""Result"" in the upper right corner of the panel.

The gold lines, circles, and squares on the panel represent the alchemical pathways of signals. You can connect these pathways with patch cables, or you can use the secret technique of touching the circles and squares in more than two places with your hands, known as the ""touch bridge,"" to allow your body to intervene in the audio alchemy.

Strega's case size is the same as Make Noise's semi-modular synthesizer ""0-Coast"" and the patchable controller/sequencer ""0-CTRL."" As you can see, the compatibility of these three units is excellent. By patching them together, the devices interact with each other, and the sounds that can be produced are truly ""infinite.""

Of course, it can be used in combination with Make Noise's Eurorack modules and Eurorack modular synthesizers from around the world. Strega brings the philosophy of audio alchemy to your modular system.
