1. Highly directional on-camera shotgun microphone
The MKE 400-II is a compact, highly directional on-camera shotgun microphone designed specifically to improve the sound quality of videos. The directionality of the MKE 400-II is achieved by an acoustic interference tube, which ensures pickup from the direction the camera is facing for clear sound quality.

2. Protection from wind and handling noise
The MKE 400-II uses a shock-mount capsule to minimize handling noise. The MKE 400-II has built-in wind protection and shock mounts, further enhancing its functionality to achieve high-quality recording. Wind protection provides noise protection by providing a mesh layer inside the housing. By attaching the included windshield, you can achieve even greater wind protection. In addition, the low-cut filter reduces low-frequency sounds such as air conditioner noise and wind noise.

3. Freely control the sound
One of the most important things to do when recording audio is level checking and sound monitoring. The MKE 400-II is equipped with a low-cut filter and a three-stage sensitivity switch to fine-tune the sound to accommodate the dynamics encountered during shooting, as well as a built-in headphone monitoring output and eight-stage digital volume control. By connecting headphones with a 3.5mm jack directly to the MKE 400-II, you can easily check the levels and audio performance while shooting.

4. Manual or automatic power on/off
When the MKE 400-II is connected to a digital SLR or mirrorless camera, it automatically turns on/off together with the camera (requires plug-in power). The microphone is ready as soon as the camera is started, which also helps save energy when not shooting. The power detection function is compatible with many smartphone models, and the power is automatically turned off when the MKE 400-II is removed. A manual power button is also provided, and it also has an off-delay function (when the power is off) to prevent accidental operation.

5. Sufficient operating time and accessories for normal use
The MKE 400-II runs the microphone with two AAA batteries and can record audio continuously for up to 100 hours. In addition, the battery level indicator is visible three hours before the battery runs out, so you can ensure that you have enough time until the end of shooting.

6. The importance of a small package
By having many functions standard inside the microphone, there is space not only in the camera bag but also on the camera body, allowing you to use other accessories at the same time. Speaking of accessories, the cable of the MKE 400-II is coiled, so it doesn't get in the way and stays firmly connected during shooting.
