Royer Labs / dBooster2

This is a two-channel model of the company's dBooster. It can be used not only as a booster to supplement the output of ribbon or dynamic microphones, but also as a DI.

dBooster2 can be used as a 2-channel dBooster as an in-line booster for ribbon and dynamic microphones, and each channel can also function as a high impedance D.I. with impedance buffering technology.

When used as an in-line booster, each channel can be boosted at two levels, 12dB or 20dB, using the front panel switch. The Class A input provides a high source impedance for passive microphones, minimizing loading (attenuation) and improving headroom. The gain switch allows you to achieve the optimal balance of gain and headroom for various environments and applications.

The dBooster2's low impedance output is a microphone-level signal that can be input into a standard microphone preamp. dBooster2 also helps minimize signal loss over long cable runs.

When used as a D.I., the unbalanced Hi-Z input can be used with a selectable gain of 0dB or 8dB. Using dBooster2 as a D.I. allows you to maintain appropriate headroom and gain while minimizing distortion and sound changes.
