The MAQ-2NV is a stereo styling equalizer based on the acclaimed EQ-2NV, a classic British "1081/1083" type design arranged as a digitally controlled analog parametric EQ.

■Stereo Mastering EQ It offers a similar topology to the vintage 1081/1083 models but with welcome improvements. A newly designed class A discrete single-ended amplifier and true inductor/capacitor (L/C) circuitry gives the vintage models more musical clarity and improved dynamic range. The output section features a unique discrete class A balanced circuit. Built to meet the demands of mastering engineers, it features extended high and low frequency ranges, EQ gain switches, linkable channel controls and a very low frequency high pass filter. The four EQ band gain switches on each channel have a range of 0 to +/- 3dB in 1/2dB steps and a range of +/- 3 to +/- 8dB in 1dB steps and each band has an individual push button bypass switch. There are left and right channel bypass switches, the channel high pass filter frequencies are 15, 20, 25, 32, 40 and 50 Hz and a link switch sets both channels to the same EQ curve from the left channel control. Like the EQ-2NV, the input selector/sensitivity switch on the front panel gives you the option of using the signal from the MAQ-2NV's transformer-coupled line input (ranges from +8dbm to -20dbm) or a patch signal from the NV preamp.
