Overview Overview
The Z4000 NS is an analog envelope generator with CV control. It has a built-in CV processor for envelope shape CV control, scaling, and inversion. The Z4000 produces an envelope consisting of four classic segments: Attack, Decay, Sustain, and Release. Each segment can be set manually using the knobs or dynamically set with the CV control.

The control knobs in the Attack, Decay, and Release segments are scaled. The first 0-50% of knob rotation allows for high resolution control over the millisecond range.

The output level is fully controllable for signals up to 10V in either polarity and can be inverted to the opposite polarity or clipped using the CV control scaler. The two-color LED crossfades both polarities.

The attack slope switch can select the logarithmic or exponential curve of the attack segment. This subtle effect helps fine-tune the attack segment slope. There is a shoot button for manually triggering the envelope. The Z4000 can also use retrigger input to create legato notes when using the classic keyboard interface.

The smoothness and start-up of the Z4000 is made possible by the 4-segment active charge discrete circuit, which is an extended version of the classic 2-segment Rise / Fall transient generator circuit.
