Forbidden Planet is a full analog multimode filter inspired by Steiner-Parker's Synthacon, which was introduced in 1975. Take control of the Forbidden Planet manually or with a CV to get the Eurorack sound into a new trajectory.

The Forbidden Planet has high-pass, low-pass, band-pass, and three filter input terminals. The high-pass section is typical of this module and is designed to add high-pass filtering to Tiptop Audio's wide range of Eurorack modules. It sends a violent kick drum to the highpass section to filter the bass while maintaining the beat's beating. Bandpass is great for cutting lows and highs while using it for accurate sound design or shaping audio in its sweet spots. Lowpass is a classic -12dB 2Pole analog slope that sounds great for monosynth patches and filtering to the ideal low-end bass.

Resonance uses an internal feedback path that sounds smooth or aggressive, depending on the knob settings. The low setting emphasizes cutoff harmonics, the middle setting starts self-oscillation, and near the maximum setting, interesting sounds and self-oscillation of fine particles invite you to the world of science fiction.

The Forbidden Planet is an impressive multi-mode analog filter that adds a broad filter spectrum to Tiptop Audio's modular family and is a small one that unleashes the potential for “Forbidden” creativity.
