AMS Neve / 8801 Channel Strip

A channel strip born from the 88R console. Housed in a 19-inch rack, this 1U unit is equipped with a microphone preamp, high-pass/low-pass filters, 4-band EQ, compressor, gate, dynamics side chain, and an insert point. It boasts the quality and versatility that befits the Neve name.

The 8801 is the perfect channel strip born from the legendary 88R console, housed in a compact 1U 19-inch rack unit. Hand-built and hand-wired by Neve, this groundbreaking channel strip offers a front end with all the quality and versatility that Neve has become synonymous with. The 8801 signal path consists of extremely high-quality Neve microphone preamps, high-pass and low-pass filters, four bands of musical equalization, a compressor, a gate, a dynamics side chain and an insert point. The order of the signal path can be changed according to the producer's requirements. It is also possible to adjust the dynamics response of the input signal by routing the filter and/or equalizer sections to the dynamics side chain. Optional Neve-designed A/D conversion supports standard sample rates up to 192kHz and also allows direct conversion to DSD. In listening tests, many engineers and producers preferred the sound of the Neve-designed converters over more expensive standalone converters. Neve's proprietary Recall software (Mac/PC compatible) allows seamless integration with your workstation, allowing instant recall of settings from all your external devices. An essential creative tool, Recall combines the flexibility of a computer-based system with the power and sound quality of an original Neve design.
