The optional Neve 4081 Digital Card provides a FireWire / AES interface that converts 4-channel A / D to AES or FireWire. An insert point is provided in front of the A / D converter for each channel to switch an external analog outboard device to a signal path. 4-channel AES-analog conversion and FireWire-analog conversion are also possible. The expansion board is built into the 4081 unit and has two modes of operation depending on whether a FireWire connection is detected.
