AMS Neve / 4081 Quad Mic Preamp

A 4-channel microphone preamp that can be remotely controlled using the Neve Remote Control software. A sound tool that combines modern technology with the 1081 and 1081R modules.

■Four classic mic preamps in one The 4081 Quad Mic Preamp is based on the 1081 and 1081R modules, giving you powerful control and the legendary Neve sound. All of the 4081's functions can be controlled directly from the front panel, or remotely using a Mac or PC with Neve Remote Control software. This provides a simple and elegant solution for users of ProTools, Nuendo, Cubase and similar DAW systems. Multiple 4081 units can be linked to create up to 64 channels of independent mic preamps or line level inputs, all controlled from a single computer. Version 2.00 software also displays metering information within the Remote Mic Control window, which is transferred from the 4081 unit to the Remote Mic Control software running on the computer being used for remote control. ■Upgrade options An optional digital card allows the FireWire/AES interface to convert four channels of A/D conversion to AES or FireWire. An insert point is provided before the A/D converter on each channel, allowing external analog outboard equipment to be switched into the signal path. Four channels of AES to analog and FireWire to analog conversion are also available.
