AMS Neve / 2264ALB Mono Limiter/Compressor Module

A compressor module compatible with the 500 series module format. It combines the circuitry inherited from the original 2264A with modern features in a compact housing.

■Legendary Limiter/Compressor for the 500 Series The 2264ALB, built by engineers at Neve in the UK, inherits its unique sound characteristics by using the same architecture, matching components, and hand-wound transformers as the original. In addition, it also includes new features. It performs similarly to the previous 2254 limiter/compressor type, but in the compact form of the 500 Series. The discrete class A/B design and transformer-coupled circuitry used in the input, bridge driver design, side chain, and output stages deliver a completely unique sound. The original 2264A unit is still in demand even decades after it was discontinued, and remains one of the gold standard in studio equipment. Built by engineers at Neve in the UK, the 2264ALB adds new features: a signal presence indicator LED and a slow attack option. The 2264ALB also pairs perfectly with the 1073LB microphone preamp module. The 2264ALB module can be inserted between the input and output stages of a 1073LB module to create a completely new Neve classic audio path (modules must be installed in the same 500 series rack). ■Features - Classic mono limiter/compressor - Transformer-coupled circuits used at the input, bridge driver, side chain and output stages - Independent limiter and compressor IN/OUT selectors - BYPASS switch for direct connection between input and output terminals - Slow attack switch changes between the classic 2264A attack setting and a new slow attack setting for bus compression work. - Digital LED meter indicates 0dB to 20dB gain reduction with approximate PPM ballistics. - Audio processing insert design allows audio from a 2264ALB module to be inserted into the audio path of an existing 1073LB module (modules must be installed in the same 500 series rack).
