AMS Neve / 2254/R Mono Limiter/Compressor

A mono compressor that can be used with Neve Total Recall software via USB. This model inherits the sound character of the original 2254 compressor while incorporating new functions.

■The New Original Successor to the legendary 2254, introduced in 1969, the Neve 2254/R mono limiter/compressor represents another milestone. Discrete Class A design and transformer-coupled circuits are used in the input, bridge-driver design, side-chain and output stages, resulting in a completely unique sound. Using the same architecture, components and hand-wound transformers as the original, it not only inherits the unique sonic characteristics of the 2254, but also enhances it with features that modern producers and engineers are looking for. Whereas the original was almost cubic in shape, the new 2254/R adopts a 1U 19-inch rack-mount form. And the new model allows settings to be saved and recalled via USB using Neve Total RecallTM software. It also allows manual adjustment of the fast attack time, which is continuously variable between 100μS and 2mS.
