Fusion の Violet EQ を超えるべく、UV EQ はより機能を拡張し、正確な「フォーカスモード」を持つ２つの専用ミッドバンド EQ を搭載しました。クラシックな SSL 伝統のプロセッシング技術によるパラメトリック EQ に対してさらに踏み込み、絶対的に厳密な正確性を持つノッチスタイルのフィルタリングと共鳴やうなりの制御を実現します。

Focus mode

フォーカスモードは、問題となっている周波数を厳密に追い込んで増幅したり減衰させたりするために使用できます。Focus スイッチを押すと自動的に選択されている Q 設定が狭くなり、さらにゲインレンジが通常の ±9dB から ±18dB と広くなります。SSL の実現する真に自在なワークフローにのっとり、例えばこのモード変更により EQ は音楽的なツールから外科的なツールとしても使用できる多才さを備えています。

HPF & Trim

低域のばらつきを抑えてまとめ上げるため、UV EQ の HPF は低域のプロセッシングを自在に行えます。LF のシェルビングバンドとの組み合わせによる独特な方法でシグナルを加工することで、UV EQ はブーストあるいはカットといった効果の結果を探ることができます。専用のトリムコントロールによりヘッドルームに余裕を持たせたり、あるいは逆に望むだけクリップさせることができます。

■FUSION's highly acclaimed Violet EQ The SSL UltraViolet 500 Series Stereo EQ is a model that puts Fusion's highly acclaimed Violet stereo EQ section into the 500 Series format. It is an ideal partner for the SSL G-COMP stereo bus compressor module, allowing users of 500 Series modules to have an SSL master bus EQ in their rack. The UltraViolet EQ builds on the Fusion Violet EQ by taking the functionality a step further and adding two dedicated mid bands with their own Focus control for greater EQ flexibility. The UV-EQ uses the traditional SSL feature of carefully selecting frequencies and response curves to provide musical, intuitive equalization designed to quickly tweak the sound of your mix. ■Focus Mode Focus Mode allows users to "focus" on problem frequencies or specific frequencies they wish to emphasize or attenuate. Pressing the "Focus" switch automatically narrows the selected Q setting even further, widening the range of available gain beyond the normal +/- 9dB operation. ■Key Features
