A compressor that perfectly reproduces the aesthetics and sound of the vintage NEVE 2254.

■Vintage-style compressor The COMP-54 mk3 is a single-channel vintage-style compressor. The signal path uses only discrete components, just like vintage equipment. The input and output are transformer-balanced, and the circuit is a luxurious class A design with a third interstage transformer. Its greatest appeal is its universal sound, which reproduces as closely as possible the smooth and sweet classic sound of the NEVE2254 designed in 1969. It is also possible to insert an equalizer unit such as the EQ-73 (sold separately), and you can create a channel consisting of a Golden Age Project preamp, EQ, and compressor. ■Differences between the mk2 and mk3 versions ・More robust and reliable rotary switch ・New knobs with improved operability ・The insert point for the GAP EQ unit (EQ-73) has been changed to just before the make-up gain. This improves the signal-to-noise ratio. ■Main features ・Vintage-style circuit design. All discrete circuit configuration - Classic diode bridge design - Transformer balanced configuration - Transformer upgrade also available - Flexible Ratio, Attack and Release controls - Step controls for easy setting recall (except Gain) - Equipped with a 3-frequency sidechain filter. One of the positions allows for analog tape-style tape compression simulation with limiting only on the high frequencies at 7kHz. - Equipped with COMP In/Out and independent Bypass switch - Highly visible analog meter (can switch between displaying output and gain reduction amount) - Two COMP-54s can be linked for stereo operation - Independent XLR and TRS phone inputs and outputs - Equipped with 600 ohm termination switch - 24V AC adapter included as standard (PSE certified 100V Japanese specification) - Solid and sturdy chassis design - Dedicated insert terminal for EQ-73 → The EQ-73 has insert terminals for input and output and is used by connecting it to the insert terminals of the PRE-73, PRE-73DLX, and COMP-54.
