The String Saver dramatically improves string breakage resistance and sustain compared to metal saddles.
The String Saver creates a thin Teflon film as the string moves and vibrates against the saddle. This acts as a lubricant, preventing the string from being fixed more than necessary against the saddle, spreading the load that tends to be concentrated at one point over a wide area. This is how the string is less likely to break. The String Saver saddle produces a deep and crisp sound as if a vintage steel saddle was used, and as a result, the sustain effect is also improved.
