The WM-1 Wireless MIDI Adapter can be connected to electronic devices such as keyboards and rhythm machines that have standard MIDI IN/OUT terminals to wirelessly send and receive MIDI data with iOS devices and Macs that have MIDI-compatible music apps. It can also send and receive with instruments connected to another WM-1, and with a PC connected to a wireless MIDI dongle WM-1D. As with a normal MIDI cable, it can send and receive not only note information, but also tempo synchronization, program change information, and control change information, allowing for unprecedented comfortable setup and performance without cables.

Low latency for a rich playing experience
Until now, musicians have avoided wireless MIDI systems because of latency. Latency refers to the time it takes from pressing a key to hearing the sound. The longer the latency, the more unnatural the performance feels, and the more difficult it is for the performer to get the timing right. With Roland's unique wireless technology, the WM-1 provides a rich playing experience with high response performance, just like connecting with a normal MIDI cable.

Amazingly fast communication
The WM-1/WM-1D's STANDARD MODE allows for stable communication with a total of four WM series units. In addition, for instruments where timing is important, you can use FAST MODE to speed up the transmission and reception speed. You can play comfortably. FAST MODE speeds up the transmission and reception speed to 3 milliseconds between two WM-1/WM-1D units. It is faster than the internal speed of many hardware devices and provides unprecedented high-speed communication. You no longer have to worry about latency.

WM-1D: Support for Windows and Realization of Low Latency

The optional wireless MIDI dongle WM-1D is ideal for incorporating a wireless MIDI system into a Windows OS computer. Simply connect it to a USB port to achieve highly responsive MIDI transmission and reception with any device. With Mac/iOS devices, you can communicate with the WM-1 in STANDARD MODE via Bluetooth MIDI. If you need even higher-speed communication in FAST MODE or want to achieve wireless connection with multiple computers, you can achieve this by connecting the WM-1D*.

*Apple's genuine Lightning - USB camera adapter is required for USB connection with iOS devices equipped with Lightning terminals.
