As the first bass sound source to use physical modeling, MODO DRUM provides realistic drum sounds just like the award-winning MODO BASS. MODO DRUM allows you to control various elements that make up the sound of your drum kit, from the material and size of the drums to your playing style and room resonance.

Unlike traditional sampling-based drum sound sources, MODO DRUM uses IK's unique modal synthesis-based sound generation technology and uses an optimized sound engine to breathe new life into your drum tracks.

The basic sound of a drum kit is determined by the physical components of each instrument. However, the final sound is determined not only by physical elements such as the size, material, and drum head of the instrument, but also by the playing style, the interaction between the drum head and body, the resonance between the instruments that make up the drum kit, and the room resonance.

MODO DRUM reproduces the complex interactions of playing style, drum kit, and room resonance in real time, just as if a real drummer were playing.

Infinite possibilities with 10 drum kits
Creating a sound with MODO DRUM starts by selecting one of 10 drum kits. We have models that represent various styles, genres, and eras, such as Black Oyster, Extreme, Grungy, and Plexi.

Customize your drum kit freely
In the CUSTOMIZE section, you can add or remove instruments that make up the drum kit, as well as make detailed edits such as the material of each instrument's parts.
You can customize the instruments in your drum kit with different shells, heads, tuning, damping, diameter, and depth.
You can also adjust the tension of the snare drum. You can also adjust how the kick and snare resonate with nearby instruments.
You can adjust the pitch and damping of the cymbals.
You can save the entire drum kit with all your drum settings, or save individual instrument settings as presets.

Your personal drummer
You can customize more than just the drum kit! The PLAY STYLE section lets you control how your drummer plays.
You can create a loose, swaying groove or a precise performance by setting the location and accuracy of each instrument's hit. You can also set the sticks in each hand separately.
You can choose between two playing styles for the kick drum: heel up and heel down. You can also choose the beater material from felt, plastic, or wood.
MODO DRUM also features a round robin function that creates natural variations when hitting the same note repeatedly, allowing you to play with slightly different nuances each time, just like a real drummer.
