""PHYSION"" is the first product based on Eventide's patent-pending STRUCTURAL EFFECTS method, which breaks down sound into its basic components, the transient and tonal parts, and allows you to adjust each part independently.

Unlike traditional approaches that rely on limited dynamic processing like EQ, compressor/limiter, and transient shapers, STRUCTURAL EFFECTS precisely and effectively separates the transient and tonal parts of a sound, allowing you to tweak, modify, and reconstruct the two split sounds.

PHYSION also features Eventide's studio-quality effects that can be used independently on the transient and tonal parts. Transient effects include delay, tap delay, compressor, phaser, reverb, and gate+EQ, while tonal effects include delay, compressor, EQ, pitch shift, chorus, reverb, and tremolo, allowing you to create sounds that range from subtle to outlandish.

The Structural Split section in the middle of the interface features SMOOTHING, TRANS DECAY, SOURCE TYPE, and FOCUS controls, as well as a display showing the transient and tonal waveforms in real time, allowing for visual and intuitive operation. The plug-in's main FOCUS control adjusts the balance between the two decomposed elements. By mixing or soloing the decomposed audio, you can create innovative sounds that were previously impossible.

For example, in the case of a guitar, removing the attack sound (transient) without affecting the timbre (tonal) can create a bowed sound. You can also use pitch shifting on the sustain (tonal) of a snare drum without changing the attack sound (transient) to change the tuning of the drums, or adjust the sustain (tonal) of a piano to create a staccato sound. ``PHYSION'' is a practical plug-in that can be used in a wide range of situations depending on your ideas.

Tony Aniello, president of Eventide, said, ""We named the main control of this plug-in FOCUS because we honestly couldn't think of anything else to call it.""
