RDL / HR-MP2A

The RDL/HR-MP2A is a dual channel microphone preamplifier with line level output, providing high input headroom and a wide, flat frequency response.

■Applications:

The HR-MP2A is a dual channel mic preamp with line level output. Each section has identical rear panel signal connections and front panel controls.

The INPUT PAD switch attenuates the input signal by 15 dB just before the preamplifier input stage, increasing the maximum input level from +5 dBU (without attenuator) to a maximum of +20 dBU. The POLARITY switch inverts the signal polarity if necessary. The GAIN control adjusts continuously from 20 dB to 60 dB. The CLIP LED lights when the signal peak is 3 dB from clipping. The CLIP LED trigger threshold is 17 dB above the nominal +4 dBu output.

The HR-MP2A offers excellent input headroom, a flat frequency response over a wide bandwidth, and a very low noise level with high common mode rejection. Total harmonic distortion and crosstalk are below the noise floor, and the HP-MP2A can operate as a stereo preamplifier or as two independent mono preamplifiers.

Each preamplifier provides two balanced line-level output formats: a terminal block and a 1/4-inch TRS. A separate summing amplifier provides a line-level combined mono output on a terminal block. The balanced outputs can be wired unbalanced. The rear panel also features a terminal block and a power input jack for connecting a 24Vdc power supply.

The HR-MP2A is housed in a durable, half-rack size, shielded metal enclosure and can be used alone or mounted in an RDL rack adapter (sold separately).
