■Applications:
The TPS-1A is a single pair audio transmitter module compatible with RDL Format-A twisted pair products.
These modules are designed to be mounted in wall boxes, cabinets and enclosures used to connect audio sources. The D- and DS- models can be mounted in the RDL WB-1U and RDL WB-2U wall boxes or in a standard US electrical box. The D-TPS1A features a white front panel with grey lettering to match RDL Decora™ style remote control devices. The DS-TPS1A is made of stainless steel to match RDL Decora™ style stainless steel remote control devices for commercial and industrial installations. The AF-TPS1A is an APPFLEX™ series product that fits a variety of APPFLEX wall mount, cabinet mount and tabletop enclosures. The EM-TPS1A is a 45mm square module that can be mounted in European Modular mounting frames and cover plates. European electrical boxes do not have enough depth to accommodate RJ45 jacks and plugs, so EM-Products uses Euro-style terminal blocks to connect twisted pair cables.

-TPS1A modules have an XLR microphone input. The module has IEC 24V phantom power and can accept input signals from both dynamic and condenser microphones. The input signal is amplified by a studio-quality microphone preamplifier optimized for reference operating levels. The GAIN switch on the back is normally set by the installer to NORM (normal) gain. If consistently low microphone levels are expected, this switch can be set to the HIGH gain position. The preamplified microphone source is routed to one output cable pair selected during installation using a switch on the back panel.

These modules drive only one cable pair. Therefore, they can receive signals and power from other microphone-level or line-level Format-A transmitters. The D-, DS- and AF-modules have spare RJ-45 jacks for their input cables. The installer can simply connect the copper wires of the two cables in parallel to the terminal block on the EM-model. -You can chain the TPS1A and two other transmitters, or connect one 2-pair transmitter. If three single-pair transmitters are connected, each transmitter must feed a different pair (A, B or C). If connected with an RDL 2-pair transmitter that feeds stereo audio on pairs B and C, the TPS1A must be set to feed pair A. The power pair and all three audio pairs are fed through both R45 jacks on the rear. -The TPS1A is powered directly from a 24 Vdc power supply using a 4-pin terminal block on the rear. Local power connected to the module is fed to all modules connected to the LOOP IN and OUTPUT RJ45 jacks. The -TPS1A can also be powered remotely from any other module, signal distributor, or RDL power inserter connected over the same twisted pair cable. A front panel LED indicates power-on status.
