This is a Chandler Limited limiter. The THD control allows you to add powerful harmonic distortion to your signal when the compressor/limiter threshold is bypassed. It adds rich harmonics to digital stereo sources, giving the sound a warmer tone.

The original TG12413 limiter from EMI/ABBEY ROAD Studios was never released to the public and was only installed in EMI-affiliated studios. The sound quality of this extremely rare instrument is etched into numerous masterpieces from the 1960s and 1970s, including the late Beatles, as well as PINK FLOYD, Paul McCartney, and the Rolling Stones. Even today, the beautiful sound of this vintage TG console can be heard on albums by artists like Oasis. The TG12413 limiter's warm, open sound exudes a wonderful vintage sound, reminiscent of a more organic Fairchild 660/670.

The EMI/Abbey Road Studio Special Edition meticulously recreates this original TG12413 in collaboration with EMI/Abbey Road Studios. It also boasts numerous new features.

The newly added THD control adds powerful harmonic distortion to the signal when the compressor/limiter threshold is bypassed. You can add warmth to digital stereo sources by adding rich harmonics, or create a beautiful, retro sound by using one TG1 channel as a THD control and the other as a compressor/limiter. Like the original TG1, it features premium components, including a pure-blooded transformer and an Elma step control. From the fast, natural tracking compressor of the Urei 1176 to the thick, warm hard limiting of the Fairchild 660/670, the versatile controls, including two COMP/LIMIT modes, step gain output control, HOLD/INPUT and RECOVERY controls, and stereo link, deliver a wide range of sound quality that goes beyond vintage. The classic, large analog gain reduction meter is also popular.
