This snare drum uses TAMA's brass shell. This is the sixth release in the STAR Reserve series. The reverberation inside the shell produced by hammering brings about a moderate sweetness and high-tone sound, realizing a straight yet luxurious sound image. The size is 14 x 5.5 inches.
■STAR Reserve Snare Drum Concept
We want drummers to experience the joy of playing drums once again. The ""STAR Reserve Snare Drum"" series was added to the STAR Drums lineup in 2016, born from that desire. This series aims to inspire even drummers who are familiar with various snares to try new sound making and playing styles that break existing concepts.
To achieve this, we pour in all the technology, knowledge, and know-how that TAMA has cultivated up to now, and in order to pursue ""new possibilities for snare drums"", we are an ambitious project that creates unique sounds that only each model can achieve, such as adopting new parts and specifications from other series without being bound by the framework of the STAR Drums series.
That is the STAR Reserve Snare Drum.

■TBRS1455H is the sixth snare drum in the STAR Reserve series that uses a brass shell.
The slightly shallow 5.5"" size emphasizes the hard, core-like, clear sound that is unique to brass, while the reverberation inside the shell produced by hammering brings about a moderate sweetness and high-tone sound, resulting in a straight yet luxurious sound image. The key to this is the unique hammering process performed by skilled Japanese metalworking craftsmen. By using different sized hammers and making the edges of the shell slightly more rigid than the center, this gives the shell an exquisitely balanced reverberation that cannot be produced by uniform machine hammering. In addition, the edges of the 2.3mm thick brass flange hoops used for the hoops have been slightly shaved down, giving them the sound spread that is characteristic of flange hoops while emphasizing a snappy attack. This combination produces a crisp sound and band surround. It has a bold sound that doesn't get lost in the crowd.
Its gorgeous looks attract the audience and its solid presence doesn't get lost in the band sound, captivating not only the audience but also the players.
