Hammond B-3X is a Hammond B-3 virtual instrument for Mac/PC. IK Multimedia developed the Hammond B-3X in collaboration with the Hammond Organ Company in Chicago, Illinois, USA, and Suzuki Musical Instrument Manufacturing Co., Ltd. in Hamamatsu, Japan, to recreate the authentic B-3 sound in the digital world.

The sound of the Hammond B-3X is achieved not only by faithfully recreating the organ's sound, but also by combining multiple effects. In addition to stomp effects, a Leslie™ rotary cabinet, and parallel mixable guitar amps, post-effects like compressors and EQs are also available. Comprehensive sound shaping is possible while recreating the signal flow exactly like the original.

To deliver the ultimate in realism, the Hammond B-3X's sound is based on the same mechanical operation as a real organ. The Hammond B-3X samples the tones generated by 91 tonewheels from a meticulously maintained Hammond organ, and then mixes and generates the sound in real time according to the key played and drawbar settings.

IK Multimedia's modeling technology faithfully recreates the tone filtering, key clicks, and iconic Hammond percussion sounds, as well as the chorus and vibrato circuits. All controls and circuits were modeled to IK's strict standards and further verified by the Hammond Organ Company.

The Hammond B-3X also simulates the differences in condition due to age. You can control tonal balance, musical noise caused by generator leakage and crosstalk, and the boost level of the chorus circuit.

True Sound and Authentic Feel
The Hammond B-3X is designed to seamlessly recreate the feel of an actual B-3 in a digital implementation. Every element, from the chorus/vibrato to the placement of the percussion switches, is reproduced exactly as it was on the original. Twenty-four custom drawbar settings can be saved to the inverted keys, allowing for real-time tone switching. The Controls view, ideal for live use, allows you to hide the keyboard and view an expanded view of the drawbars and switches. It also supports MIDI assignments from the latest Hammond digital organs, so you can start playing and performing immediately.

Five Stomp Effects
The STOMPS section offers five stompbox effects (overdrive, graphic EQ, stomp chorus & vibrato, pedal wah, and spring reverb) taken from the familiar AmpliTube and T-RackS. These effects have been carefully selected to recreate a wide range of sounds, and are MIDI assignable for on-stage control.

Realistic Leslie Sound
The CABS section offers Leslie unit modeling developed in the Leslie Collection, as well as guitar amp and cabinet modeling taken from AmpliTube 4. These effects allow you to create sounds that are just like the real Leslie units and guitar amps. The mixer also allows you to control the mix of the Leslie, guitar amp, and D.I. sound.

Finally, the finishing touches can be done on its own.
The Hammond B-3X's final stage is equipped with a compressor, EQ, and reverb, so you can complete the sound creation process on the B-3X alone. These features are taken from the industry-standard T-RackS.

The LIMITER 76 is a FET-type compressor that creates a classic, solid sound. The EQ-81 adds smooth sound shaping and warmth, just like classic consoles. A final digital reverb adds spaciousness and depth to your sound.

The tonewheel sound is output after passing through controls that mimic the original, with deep and flexible sound shaping, including a Leslie speaker. The Hammond B-3X's sound, produced with the same behavior as a genuine Hammond organ, delivers a next-generation playing experience worthy of Hammond's official approval.
