-The pickguard may have a protective film attached to the surface.
-The film may not peel off properly. In that case, use a hair dryer to warm the surface while peeling off the film.
-If there is any adhesive left on the surface after peeling off the film, you can use alcohol, an eraser, or hand cream to remove the adhesive.
