This stereo analog equalizer from elysia uses stepped knobs, so you can easily recall settings when using it on a mix bus or for mastering.
■Musical Equalizer
The stereo analog equalizer museq is constructed from the highest quality components, with premium sound shaping possibilities and optimized parameters. This allows users to easily and quickly achieve musical results. With 5 bands of EQ, a wide range of gains, and unique features, museq is flexible for any environment, such as tracking and mixing. In addition, the 23-step knob allows easy recall of settings when used on the mix bus or in mastering.
Both channels have three parametric bands with two switchable Q widths. The bands at both ends are low/high shelving filters, and can be switched to low-cut/high-cut filters, respectively. In low-cut/high-cut mode, the resonance peak can be adjusted to prevent the cutoff frequency from sounding overly damped, and it is possible to create a sound reminiscent of classic inductor circuits.
All five gain control knobs on each channel are switchable between boost and cut modes to easily find problem bands and increase the resolution of gain adjustments. Each channel also features a switchable switch that allows for strong harmonic coloration, making it an EQ with two different sound characters. Generally, coloration is preferred when mixing and a clean character is preferred when tracking, but this is of course up to you.
All circuit designs used in museq are discrete analog circuits. All signal processing is always performed by single transistor elements operating in class A mode, and the design is all discrete, even down to the power supply. The use of oversized transformers, carefully selected capsule conductive plastic potentiometers, and special current feedback amplifiers are just a few of elysia's technical details. The combination of all these elements ensures that the clean and powerful sound character is not compromised even when used in extreme settings.
■Main Features
・100% Discrete Analog
Based on elysia's design philosophy, all museq audio circuits are Class A discrete circuits, and the design does not use any integrated circuits.
・FET Active Bandpass Circuit
All filter stages are active, taking full advantage of the pure design approach without coupling capacitors. This is the basis for a truly musical EQ.
・High-pass/Low-pass Filter with Resonance
A very useful feature of museq is that the shelving filters at both ends can be switched to high-pass/low-pass filters with resonant peaks.
・Parallel Filter Design
The special circuit design ensures that even when using high-pass/low-pass filters, there is no interference with the mid- and high-frequency parametric bands.
・Warm Mode
museq features a second sound character that transforms the frequency spectrum, harmonics, and transient characteristics, and can be activated with the flip of a switch.
・Pure and transparent circuit
Museq boasts outstanding sound quality by adopting a current feedback amplifier circuit and designing a pure filter stage without coupling capacitors.
・Boost/Cut mode
To switch between boost/cut modes for each frequency band, a 23-step knob is used, providing twice the settable values compared to a normal -/0/+ type knob.
・Selectable Q width
You can choose the filter Q from two Q factors, wide and narrow. The Q factor is not affected by the gain setting.
・Step type & stereo matching potentiometer
All knobs on the museq are 23-step type, and are used after a rigorous software selection process, so they are adjusted to match perfectly in a stereo pair.
*This product is 115V specification, and we do not handle 100V-only models. It has been confirmed that there are no problems with operation in a domestic 100V environment.
