KABUKI & NOH PERCUSSION is a software sound source that comprehensively captures most of the traditional Japanese percussion instruments used in Kabuki and Noh. Seven years have passed since the release of the BFD version.

New recordings of Noh flutes, shouts, and footsteps from the Noh stage have been added for a powerful, even higher quality sound.
With 60 instruments, 96kHz, 24-bit high resolution, and multiple microphone channels, this uncompromising music production environment delivers.

The expressive power of the ko-tsuzumi drum, realized for the first time
The ko-tsuzumi drum is known for its distinctive ""pon"" sound, but it also boasts a wide range of expressive power. In addition to the ""pom-pu-chi-ta-pe"" sounds, fine portamento can be controlled with velocity, depending on how tightly you grip the tuning rod.

Reproduce the expressive power unique to Japanese instruments
For example, the taiko (shime-daiko) drum captures the left and right hands separately, and all important playing techniques unique to Japanese instruments, such as tsuke (holding the drumstick against the striking surface), are fully covered.

Reproduce the famous ""hyudorodoro"" sound
The taiko drum evokes the sounds of wind, snow, water, and even the emotions of characters in the scene.
The famous ""hyudorodoro"" sound, which represents the appearance of a ghost, is also included. Recorded with playing techniques using long drumsticks and snow drums, it reproduces all the expressions of the Kabuki taiko drum.

Kabuki's ""Flap, Flap,"" ""Don,"" and ""Chon"" sounds
Includes the flapping ""tsukeuchi"" sounds used by actors to show off, as well as the ""footbeats"" and ""byoshi-bai"" sounds of stomping across the stage.
Kabuki performances are perfectly executed from before the show begins to afterward.
Noh Stage Sounds
In addition, the ""footbeats"" used on the Noh stage have been newly recorded. You can feel the tense atmosphere with just one sound.
A Wide Variety of Rare Instruments

Includes a wide variety of rarely seen instruments used in Kabuki sound effects, such as ekiro, music boxes, matsumushi, fuse-gane, and hon-tsurigane.

■ Included Libraries
VOICE of KABUKI & NOH
This library includes the performers' ""calls,"" essential to the accompaniment of Kabuki and Noh music.
Includes ""ya"" sounds like ""iyo"" and ""yoi,"" and ""ha"" sounds like ""ho"" and ""ha"" for two taiko drummers, two ohtsuzumi drummers, and two kotsuzumi drummers, for a total of six, plus additional calls for all performers to sing together.
Enjoy calls in the best possible condition.

■NOHKAN FLUTE PHRASES
Includes a wide variety of phrases, from familiar phrases like hishigi, otodori, ashirai, and nabori, to song phrases such as ranjo, naka no mai, kyogen kakko, maiji, raku, abare, iwato, sarashi, hayabue, and kakeri.

Includes an IR (Impulse Response) of a Noh Theater with Incredible Acoustics
The built-in convolution reverb includes an IR (Impulse Response) of a Noh stage, highly praised by performers.
Two reverb variations are available: onstage and in the audience.

20 Kits with a Variety of Instruments in 16 Slots
This product features 16 instrument slots. Easy-to-use kits are available, including kits specialized for Kabuki stage performances, Noh stage performances, and Kabuki sound effects, tailored to musical situations.
Of course, each kit allows for detailed editing of each instrument.

Extremely Natural Dynamics and Rapid Repetition
Recorded using alternate sampling, with the right and left hands recorded separately. Combined with up to 100 velocity layers, this allows for extremely natural dynamics and rapid repetition.

The Instruments Editor allows for versatile tuning of instrument tones.
You can tune pitch and control the attack strength to vary instrument character while maintaining the quality of the attack noise. Modifications are possible while maintaining the rich, high-resolution sound quality.

Instruments Mixer for Each Instrument
The Instruments Mixer allows for precise adjustment of the audio from five types of multi-microphones for each instrument.
Direct 1, Direct 2, Overhead, Room, or Stereo Mix are available. Freely create sounds for any situation.
Compressors and EQs can also be inserted on the total mix buses provided for each instrument.

■Includes Grooves (MIDI patterns) for 160 types of accompaniment percussion instruments
Includes numerous MIDI patterns for professional accompaniment grooves used in Kabuki.
Grooves can be used in two ways.
1. Monitor playback in the Groove Browser, then drag and drop into a MIDI track in your DAW.
2. Assign the Groove to the keyboard and play it with a MIDI keyboard.
