This small diaphragm condenser microphone supports high-resolution sound pickup, faithfully capturing the original sound of your instrument without any coloration.

The newly developed microphone capsule features a thin, lightweight diaphragm and reduced acoustic impedance on the back electrode plate, achieving highly reproducible sound pickup up to 50 kHz. High-strength, highly insulating polyetherimide (PEI) is used as the structural insulating material, processed with high-precision resin cutting. The capsule case and back electrode are made of precision-machined brass. High-precision assembly ensures high-precision pickup with minimal distortion. Furthermore, the diaphragm is vapor-deposited with 24K gold for exceptionally pure sound quality. The ECM-100U achieves a flat frequency response up to 50 kHz, capturing the unique characteristics of each instrument without coloring them.

The chassis is made of high-density zinc die-cast for vibration isolation and damping. The microphone housing is made of machined brass, and the combination of dissimilar metals eliminates unwanted resonance and delivers clear sound.

These products are manufactured by Sony Taiyo, a Japanese factory with a long history of producing these products.
