■What is a UPS Battery?

Uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) use sealed lead-acid batteries.

The battery's service life varies depending on the operating environment and discharge frequency. Its rated life is typically approximately 1 to 2 years under ideal conditions (approximately 2 years at an operating temperature of 25°C and 1 year at 35°C). Depending on the operating environment, such as temperature changes or frequent discharge, the battery's lifespan may deteriorate prematurely. Therefore, we recommend regularly checking the backup time and replacing the battery approximately once a year.

■ Measures to Extend Battery Life

To maximize battery life, we recommend the following:
1. Do not increase the number of connected devices until the unit's rated capacity is close to reached. Connect approximately 50% to 80% of the capacity. Applying a large load during a power outage will shorten the battery's lifespan.
2. Do not connect devices that draw large amounts of current, such as laser printers.
3. Install the UPS in a cool, well-ventilated location.
4. Discharging the UPS to measure the backup time (runtime) may shorten the battery's lifespan, so we recommend measuring it only once or twice a year.

■ Measuring Backup Time

The lifespan of a UPS will be shortened even if the battery is not used. Please check the battery regularly (unplug the power cord from the outlet and measure the time). If the backup time from a fully charged state becomes shorter, replace the battery immediately.

■Battery Storage Period

The recommended storage period for a new battery is approximately six months. Over time, the battery will lose its charge and become unusable.

■Battery Disposal Method

Send the battery to us and we will dispose of it. Please write ""Battery Disposal Request"" in the margin of the shipping label before sending it.
