■What is a UPS Battery?

Uninterruptible power supply (UPS) batteries use sealed lead-acid batteries.

The battery's service life varies depending on the operating environment and the frequency of discharge. Its rated life is typically approximately 1 to 2 years (approximately 2 years at an operating temperature of 25°C and approximately 1 year at 35°C) when maintained under ideal conditions. However, the battery's lifespan may be shortened depending on various operating conditions, such as temperature fluctuations and frequent discharge. Therefore, we recommend regularly checking the backup time and replacing the battery approximately once a year.

■ Measures to Extend Battery Life

To maximize battery life, we recommend the following:
1. Do not increase the number of connected devices until the unit's rated capacity is close to its capacity. Connect approximately 50% to 80% of the capacity. Simultaneous load during a power outage will shorten the battery's lifespan.
2. Do not connect devices that draw large amounts of current, such as laser printers.
3. Install the UPS in a cool, well-ventilated location. 4. Discharging the UPS to measure backup time (runtime) may shorten the battery's lifespan, so we recommend measuring it no more than once or twice a year.

■ Measuring Backup Time

The lifespan of a UPS will be shortened even if the battery is not in use. Please check it regularly (by unplugging the power cord from the outlet and measuring the time). If the backup time from a fully charged state becomes shorter, replace the battery immediately.

■ Battery Storage Period

A new battery should be stored for approximately six months. Over time, the battery will lose its charge and become unusable.

■ Battery Disposal Method

Send it to us and we will dispose of it. Please write ""Battery Disposal Request"" in the margin of the shipping label before sending it.
