A portable analog/PCM drum machine that lets you freely create analog/digital grooves.
IK Multimedia, an Italian company known for its lineup of music apps and peripherals for mobile devices, has released an ultra-compact drum machine. It's a sibling model of the analog (hardware) synthesizer UNO Synth, and like UNO Synth, it was developed in collaboration with Italian analog synthesizer manufacturer Soundmachines. Its hybrid design combines fat, punchy analog sounds with PCM samples, offering advanced programming functionality while remaining easy to program.
○UNO Drum Product Overview
・UNO
Combining a core kit of six genuine analog sound sources (two types of kick, snare, clap, and hi-hat) with 54 PCM samples, UNO Drum delivers a wide range of grooves, combining fat, punchy analog beats with sharp edges. PCM samples can be assigned to 12 elements, including toms, rims, cowbells, rides, and crashes, as well as kicks, snares, claps, and hi-hats, allowing you to build powerful kits that combine analog and PCM sounds.
- 100 preset kits are included, combining 54 carefully selected PCM samples from six analog sound sources designed by Soundmachines and SampleTank 4. Of course, each kit can be freely edited and saved as a preset.
- The matrix panel, also popular with the UNO Synth, allows you to quickly adjust LEVEL, TUNE, DECAY, and other parameters with knobs. You can also enjoy real-time control of parameters unique to analog sound sources.
- UNO Drum has a built-in 64-step sequencer, allowing you to program detailed drum patterns from within the unit itself. Use the pads on the panel to step-enter patterns or record them in real time.
To create a more natural groove, you can also automate eight parameters of each tone step by step. Programmed patterns can be saved as songs, combining up to 64 patterns. Patterns within a song can be triggered in any order.
- UNO Drum is designed for integration with a computer-based DAW system at home, as well as setup with iOS mobile devices like the iPad. In addition to USB MIDI, MIDI IN/OUT via a 2.5 mm jack allows you to easily connect and play traditional MIDI equipment. The UNO Drum also features an audio input, allowing you to daisy-chain other synthesizers, such as the UNO Synth, without the need for an additional mixer.
