～How to choose a capacitor～
A capacitor is an electronic component with a simple structure that sandwiches an insulator that does not conduct electricity between two electrodes. When used with a guitar/bass, it is a part that adjusts how much of the high-frequency signal is dropped to the earth when the tone control is operated (= how muffled and mellow the sound is).
The effectiveness of a capacitor is measured using the unit of capacity that can accept the incoming signal, ""μF/microfarad.""
The larger the capacitance (μF/microfarad), the wider the range of sound that can be dropped to earth, resulting in a more muffled and mellow sound.
For example, if 0.022μF is currently installed, and you want a more mellow sound, choose a larger capacitance such as 0.047μF or 0.1μF. If you want a gentler tone, choose a lower capacitance such as 0.01μF to get closer to your ideal sound.
Generally, 0.047μF (sometimes written as 473) is used for tones for guitar single coil P.U., and 0.022μF (sometimes written as 223) is used for humbucking P.U. and bass P.U.
