This is a microphone preamplifier/equalizer made by BAE. It is designed in the same way as the original NEVE 1084. It has an inductor-based high-pass filter. With 80dB of gain, it can also be used with low-output ribbon microphones.

■Channel Strip
The BAE 1084 is designed in exactly the same way as the original NEVE 1084, with the same chassis structure, Elma switches, and Carnhill transformers. Introduced 10 years after the 1073, the 1084 has several enhancements, notably a selectable HF frequency center and low-pass filter.
