Variations

The AVR2G-N is an inch-standard ABR-1 type bridge in nickel color with G Formula Nylon 66 saddles. The bridge body and studs can be fixed with set screws, which firmly transfers the vibration of the strings to the body, greatly improving intonation and sustain. The wire design prevents the saddles from coming off when changing strings.

ただ音が柔らかくなるだけではなかった

ES-335の純正サドルから本品に交換。
よく言われるように、金属製のサドルよりも音が少し柔らかくなり、軽くなる。「軽やかになる」と言った方がいいのかもしれない。違いは微妙だが「ソリッド寄りのセミアコ」が「フルアコ寄りのセミアコ」になった感じ。まあ、ここまでは予想通りで、こうなってほしかったわけなので大満足。
びっくりしたのは、9フレット上や３フレット付近でもナチュラルハーモニクスが出るようになったこと。詰まった音ではなく、かなりはっきりした音が鳴る。この変化はナイロンサドルのせいなのか、ブリッジをイモネジで固定するからなのか、はたまたギターとの相性が関係しているのか、理由は全くわからないが、オマケをつけてもらったみたいで何か嬉しい。
