The APOLLO X Series is the third generation APOLLO rack, featuring elite-class converters and HEXA(6) core DSP processing.

Apollo X Series is a Thunderbolt 3 audio interface that provides music producers, project studios, and post-production studios with recording, overdubbing, and mixing capabilities utilizing the best A/D and D/A conversion available today, HEXA Core UAD Processing, and surround monitoring*. It's compatible with both Mac and Windows.

Two Thunderbolt 3 ports allow connection to up to four Thunderbolt-equipped Apollo interfaces or up to six UAD-2 devices via Thunderbolt 1 and 2 using an optional Apple Thunderbolt adapter. +24 dBu headroom operation is also available, making it easy to connect to professional consoles and tape machines.

Convenient front-panel monitor functions include an Alt Speaker, Talkback Mic, and an assignable Dim/Mono switch.

2016 and later computers with a 6th Generation Intel Skylake (or higher) processor and a built-in Thunderbolt 3 (Alpine Ridge) controller via a USB-C port are expected to be compatible with Apollo X.

Host Application Compatibility Checklist

Please note that some computers are not Thunderbolt 3 compatible, even if they have a USB-C (Type-C) connector.
- Use of PCIe to Thunderbolt adapters, Thunderbolt to FireWire adapters, and Thunderbolt hubs is not supported.
- Compatibility with AMD processor environments has not been tested and is therefore not supported.
- Use in 2-in-1 systems (notebook/tablet) is not supported.
- Cannot coexist with UAD-1 devices.
*Use in Apple Boot Camp or virtual Windows environments is not supported.
*The Apple Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter does not support hot-plugging into the computer's USB-C port.
*UAD plug-ins other than those included as standard can be purchased from the UA Online Store.

*Important Notice
""USB-C (USB Type-C)"" refers solely to the connector shape. Therefore, not all USB-C ports support Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C connectors are also used for other protocols, such as USB 3.1 and USB 2.0). Please ensure that the computer and cables you connect to Apollo X support Thunderbolt 3.
